EPA's Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP)

The MSGP provides facility-specific requirements for many types of industrial facilities within one overall permit. The permit outlines steps that facility operators must take prior to being eligible for permit coverage, including development and implementation of a stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP).

EPA's Multi-Sector General Permit (MSGP-2000) expired on midnight on October 30, 2005. A new permit has not been finalized at the present time. This permit has been administratively continued, please click here [PDF - 73 KB - 1p] for more information.

WHAT CAN I FIND ON THIS WEB SITE?

On December 1, 2005, EPA proposed an NPDES Stormwater Multi-Sector General Permit for Industrial Activities (MSGP). This proposed permit will replace the MSGP-2000 that expired on October 30, 2005. EPA asked for comments on the proposed permit and accompanying fact sheet. The comment period closed on February 16, 2006. Please note: EPA is continuing to work on a final MSGP and plans to reissue it in the near future. The reissued MSGP will be announced widely. Check this site or sign up for NPDES News to be notified when this permit has been reissued.
