2008 Vessel General Permit NOI Search

The 2008 Vessel General Permit (VGP) regulated discharges incidental to the normal operation of vessels operating in a capacity as a means of transportation. Those vessels greater than 300 gross tons or more or those with the ability to hold or discharge more than 8 cubic meters of ballast were required to submit a Notice of Intent (NOI) to be covered under that permit. The 2008 VGP expired on December 19, 2013 and has been replaced by the 2013 VGP which became effective the day the 2008 VGP expired.

This page provides the ability to search, view, and download Vessel Notice of Intent (NOI) data for the 2008 VGP. To search, view, and download NOI data for the 2013 VGP, please click here.

Using the search features below, you can search for NOIs from the 2008 VGP. The status of all NOIs has been changed to "expired" consistent with the expiration of the 2008 VGP. To view the 2008 permit coverage history for any vessel, you can search for that vessel (or group of vessels), click on the tracking number for the vessel, and then scroll to the bottom of the NOI form. The correspondence history will allow users to see the previous 2008 VGP permit coverage status for that vessel. To download any search results in Microsoft Excel format, click on the "Export Data" button that is provided under the search results.
